I grew up in Oak Cliff, as did my father and mother who were born in 1909 and 1911, respectively. My maternal grandfather opened his drug store on Jefferson in 1907 I believe, and is buried in the Oak Cliff Cemetery off of 8th Street. I graduated from Adamson High School in 1964. Our school alumni association is very active in preserving the school’s history, and is currently attempting to assure the continued existence of our building which will be 100 years old soon. I am interested in the project, and though I live in Pflugerville (near Austin), I would love to be a part of it.
