Historic Oak Cliff Book Project Thanks for donating pictures!
Authors and fellow Cliffites Alan Elliott, Patsy Summey and Gayle Brooks Kokel are writing a pictorial history of Oak Cliff to be published by Arcadia Publishing. We want to include you and your organization in the book! - We’re searching for photographs that have Oak Cliff connections -- schools, businesses, churches, parties, parks, etc -- ideally original photos since they'll need to be scanned in high quality for the book. (We can also use postcards, printed materials, etc). The years covered by the book are 1840 to the present...- Pictures can be family snapshots of events, parties, etc., or pictures from businesses, schools, churches or other organizations (as long as we receive permission to use them in the book.)- Of course you will receive an acknowledgement for pictures provided for the book...each photo will have a 50-75 word caption, so we'd need to know the context of the picture and a brief story of what it is about.- If you know the name of any historian or archivist for any Oak Cliff church, school, business or any other organization, please contact us with the information.- Help us make this a book that all Cliffites will be proud to own.If you have photographs or information you think might be appropriate for the book, please contact: Alan Elliott (alan@oakcliff.com) Patsy Summey (patsy@oakcliff.com) The book deadline is near... |
